La Grange is perfectly situated to explore the chateaux, forests and lakes of Poitou Charente. The chateau at Javarzay (see below) is situated within beautiful parkland where you can fish in the large lake.
La Grange is situated between two bustling market towns of Melle and Chef Boutonne. Both have weekly markets where fresh produce and local artefacts can be found. Melle also boasts the historic silver mines and remains of Roman architecture.
Enjoy the peace and tranquility while you stroll by the river Sompt - famous for its historical Lavoir - which is only 2km from La Grange (shown above).
Days out to La Rochelle, Ille de Re, Cognac, Futurescope and the monkey park are all within easy reach from La Grange.
